“Steady as She Goes!”
“Steady on the Compass”, or “steady as she goes” is a nautical term which means to steer a steady course on the compass heading indicated at the time of the order. The helmsman is to repeat the order and call out the compass heading on receiving the order “Steady on…”. Steering to a convenient fixed object in line of sight, in place of adhering to the compass coordinates, happens because there is a sense that it is easier to detect deviation from the ordered course. What does this have to do with the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead? Listen to find out! It's fantastic to read the Apostle Paul's account of the crucifixion and resurrection of Jesus Christ, 1 Corinthians 15.
