John Bunyan, a Puritan minister and author published "The Pilgrim's Progress" in 1678. It is the 2nd most published book in the world, second only to The Bible, and the most popular novel ever written. In part two of this story, "Christiana's Journey" was published in 1683. In the second part, Bunyan makes some profound statements about WOMAN through the character Gaius. Keep in mind, this insight came 340 years ago. Man is created and placed by God into the idyllic home in the Garden of Eden. He was in perfect communion with both God and the natural world. The story takes a dramatic turn of disaster with the introduction of temptation and willful disobedience against the clear command of God that we call THE FALL. Eve was deceived into sinning, but Adam, who was standing next to her as she sinned, took the fruit from Eve and went head long into direct rebellion against God's command. That is why sin came into the world through Adam and not Eve. The consequences of his rebellion was catastrophic for all humans who are born since his first sin. Against this backdrop of disaster, God shows His powerful love by weaving the story of redemption, salvation, restoration, and re-creation, which comes to ultimate fulfillment at the end of the age. This is an important truth that ALL PEOPLE need to know. One night I sat in my backyard with a friend I had led to salvation in Christ. I was shocked to find out he did not believe the Bible account of creation and the fall found in the book of Genesis. I told him that the Bible story is true, how can he deny it? He responded, "No one was there when it happened, how can we know this?" I told him we have the story handed to us by Moses. He said Moses wasn't alive then. I said that the whole thing rides on the truth that there IS A GOD. If God is the creator of the world, and spoke the world into existence, then surely HE has the ability to reveal the historic account to one of HIS creation! "Other Things with... Dissonance- in music it means a lack of harmony among musical notes. Its origin means from the Latin means ‘disagreeing in sound’. "Cognitive dissonance is a mental conflict that occurs when your beliefs don’t line up with your actions, a discrepancy between what your internal values are and what you feel in the moment.  The Bible calls it being a hypocrite; being a two faced person - a person who claims or pretends to have certain beliefs about what is right but who behaves in a way that disagrees with those beliefs. We will not live in cognitive dissonance.
