Happy! Happy! Happy!
The thought of delight in religion is so strange to most people, that no two words in their language stand further apart than "holiness" and "delight." But, believers who know Christ understand that delight and faith are so beautifully united. Those of us who love God with all our hearts, find that his ways are ways of pleasantness, and all his paths are peace. Psalm 37:4 says to “Take delight in the Lord.“ The instruction of these words to some must seem very surprising and odd, but to us who are sincere believers it is only the reinforcement of a recognized truth. The life of the believer is described as a delight in God because it is a wonderful fact that true religion overflows with happiness and joy. Can you look back over your life and testify that your life has been a delight in the Lord? Psalm 37 is 40 verses long and an extremely powerful encouragement to us on how and why we should find delight in the Lord in the midst of these trying times. To be clear, in the podcast I talk about a people group I had the privilege to serve who were polytheistic in their religion. The Christian Bible is clear in its teaching that there is only ONE God. Polytheism is the construct of fallen man.
